The NGA Foundation seeks to position the industry as an employer of choice for college students and is committed to supporting students planning careers with independent grocers. Since 1990 NGA and its affiliates have awarded over $1 million in scholarships providing the critical resources needed to invest in our future leaders. 

Apply by April 1, 2021

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Scholarships are available to rising college freshman through postgraduate studies (must be enrolled at the time of payment to be considered)
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. or 4-year-degree-granting institution (including relevant postgraduate studies)
  • Majoring in Business, Food Management, IT or other focuses leading to a career in grocery
  • Experience in the grocery industry is preferred but not required

Five scholarships awarded annually each for up to 4 semesters

Asparagus Club, Thomas K. Zaucha Scholarship
One scholarship awarded annually each for up to 4 semesters

Charlie and Becky Bray Legacy Scholarship 
One scholarship awarded annually

Roger Collins Leadership Scholarship 
One scholarship awarded annually

FMS Solutions Holdings, LLC Legacy Scholarship
One scholarship awarded annually, with preference given to children of state or local law enforcement officers

Kimberly-Clark Corporation Legacy Scholarship
One scholarship awarded annually

Peter and Jody Larkin Legacy Scholarship
One scholarship awarded annually

Mondelēz International Legacy Scholarship

One scholarship awarded annually

Bob Richardson Legacy Scholarship
One scholarship awarded annually

Women Grocers of America (WGA) Mary Macey Scholarship(s)

Scholarships awarded annually

Della Noce Family Industry Diversity Scholarship 
One scholarships awarded annually to a female or a person of color to encourage greater diversity within our industry.
