Ever since the National Grocers Association Foundation Technical Assistance Center (NGAF TA Center) team began working together in 2019, perhaps the most difficult issue we have confronted is how to efficiently conduct nutrition incentive transactions.

We’ve scoured the tech landscape, to varying degrees of success, and over time found several POS companies and third-party solution providers who have developed methods to handle this transaction issue. This search has resulted in many successful partnerships between tech companies, retailers and grantees in establishing GusNIP incentive programs.

This effort inspired the NGAF TA Center team to host an incentive solutions booth at the NGA Show in Las Vegas this past September. Retailers and grantees alike had the ability to speak with providers, interact with functioning POS terminals and learn about what solution might be best suited for them or their retail partners.

But while the booth was successful and well-attended, our team recognized that there were still plenty of people unable to attend the show due to concerns about the pandemic who might benefit from the knowledge being shared. This led to us record interviews with several different providers in attendance who offer solutions for both nutrition incentive and produce prescription programs.

In the resulting videos, the interviewees speak to their company’s history, the ways in which they have been able to conduct successful incentive transactions, the areas where they are successfully operating programs and how potential partners may get in touch. The companies represented are AppCard, ECRS, IT Retail, Fresh Connect, STCR, EPIC, SNAP2Save, S4 Solutions and POS Plus.

Whether you are just starting to explore nutrition incentives (perhaps this is the first thing you have read about them) or you are in talks with GusNIP grantees looking for incentive-ready retail partners, these videos will prove invaluable. They will give you more confidence in understanding the possibilities that are out there, who to get in touch with and hopefully, aid in establishing new incentive programs to help those in need.
