Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hospitality House – an organization dedicated to assisting homeless people in their county – has seen the amount of food required to complete their mission triple. Save A Lot recently launched a donation program called “Round Up at the Register” to support Feeding America and address the national coin shortage.
Customers can round up their transaction total to the nearest dollar and donate the change to Feeding America and other local charities.
Save A Lot CEO Kenneth McGrath said the following about the program:
“As the go-to neighborhood grocery store for so many of our valued customers, Save A Lot is committed to making the lives of everyone in the communities we serve better every day, in every way. Now more than ever, local food banks need our help, and by joining forces with Feeding America to bring our ‘Round Up at the Register’ program to life, we can help provide that much-needed support to our neighbors who need it most.”
To meet increased demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, C&S Wholesale Grocers is hosting a virtual hiring event on August 26, seeking warehouse selectors.

California Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) was officially chosen as the Democratic Party’s vice-presidential nominee last night in Wilmington, Delaware. The nomination occurred on the third day of the Democratic National Convention. The DNC was originally scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but was moved to a mostly online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
