FDA Classifies Taylor Farms Iceberg Lettuce Recall as Class I

The FDA has classified the Taylor Farms de Mexico iceberg lettuce recall associated with the recent Cyclospora outbreak as a Class I recall, its highest risk classification.

Importantly, this classification does not mean the recall has been expanded or elevated. The original voluntary recall announced on July 17, 2026, remains unchanged. The FDA also reports that the recalled products are no longer expected to be available in stores or restaurants.

The Class I designation reflects the FDA’s assessment of the health risks associated with the outbreak and recalled products.

The Best if Used By Dates for the recalled lettuce have passed, and the products should no longer be available in stores or restaurants. Supported by recall audit checks, the FDA is confident none of the recalled iceberg lettuce remains on the market.
