Asparagus Club

The Asparagus Club is comprised of a highly motivated group of industry leaders to include retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and state association executives. Members ensure the future health of the independent grocery retailers and associated organizations by offering scholarship opportunities to students preparing for careers within the industry.

The Asparagus Club Scholarship Program was founded in 1990 and has provided over $850,000 in scholarship funds to students entering the independent grocery retail careers.

The Asparagus Club awards a maximum of ten scholarships per year (subject to availability of funds). Each scholarship is $2,000 per semester (fall and spring only) not to exceed four consecutive semesters. Recipients must retain full-time student status and earn at least a 2.5 GPA to earn a scholarship each semester/quarter.

Scholarship Qualifications:

  • Full-time students
  • Rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students
  • Earning a degree in a business, food management, or other relevant courses of study leading to a career in the independent retail grocery industry
