Sales and marketing veteran tapped to drive association membership and revenue growth
Washington, D.C. – Anita Nuñez Cepollaro has joined the National Grocers Association (NGA) as vice president of business development for the trade association representing the independent supermarket industry.
Nuñez Cepollaro will help drive membership growth and NGA’s non-dues revenue programs, including event sponsorships and advertising programs. She joins NGA from the DC Chamber of Commerce, where she served as director of programs.
“Anita brings extensive experience in association management, including sales, fundraising and events, which will greatly enhance NGA’s level of service for its members,” said Jonathan Downey, NGA senior vice president of membership and industry relations.
Nuñez Cepollaro’s background includes positions with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers, Visit Baltimore, Hilton Worldwide, Discover Puerto Rico and the Association of Latino Professionals for America.
“My family has a rich history in the food industry as restaurant owners and managers. Growing up, my mother managed two powerhouse restaurants in D.C. and currently my husband opened the second installment of our family-owned restaurant in Maryland, which led me to embrace this exciting responsibility at NGA,” Nuñez Cepollaro said. “I’m eager to meet and build relationships with NGA members, sponsors and partners who are the bloodline of the organization. I look forward to leading the efforts in identifying, developing and executing growth opportunities that will help expand NGA’s capabilities and services”.
Nuñez Cepollaro holds a bachelor of science degree in early childhood development from West Virginia University. A native-born Washingtonian, she lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two young children.
