NGA VP of Public Affairs Recognized as Leading Association Lobbyist

Arlington, VA – Greg Ferrara, vice president of public affairs at the National Grocers Association (NGA) was recognized as one of Association TRENDS 2015 “”Leading Association Lobbyists”” for his successful advocacy efforts to protect the independent supermarket industry from onerous and costly federal regulations.
“”Drawing on his experience from running his family’s supermarket, Greg has been a strong advocate, working tirelessly to educate lawmakers on policies that are important to the independent supermarket industry. During his tenure as chief lobbyist for NGA, Greg has grown the government relations department and its outreach programs, including the NGA Grocers PAC, to enhance relationships with policymakers and in turn better serve our members. We commend him for being named for this distinguished award,” said Peter J. Larkin, president and CEO of NGA.
As the Vice President of Public Affairs, Greg’s responsibilities include representing NGA and its members before Congress and the Administration, managing the NGA Grocers PAC and the NGA Campaign. He also oversees NGA’s communications department. Greg first joined NGA in 2005 as Director of Government Relations and has served in various leadership roles since.
Association TRENDS is the national newspaper for association executives and suppliers, with a focus on the latest news, information and trends in association management for association professionals. Honorees were nominated by peers and colleagues. Four association lobbyists were selected for this year’s award.
