Share Groups

Human Resources Share Group 

HR professionals from non-competing NGA member companies meet twice each year to participate in open and confidential sharing sessions.  This professionally-facilitated share group provides a very unique opportunity for HR executives from independent grocery companies to discuss challenges, seek the advice of peers and share solutions. Members alternate hosting the meetings (store tours included) and industry and HR topic updates are included on the agenda as requested by participants.

Operations Share Group

Now accepting new members.  Non-competing NGA members will participate in facilitated discussion around key operational issues.  Open and candid sharing sessions will enable participants to ask questions, review challenges and discussion solutions with peers.  Share group meetings will include round robin open sharing sessions as well as in-depth discussion of a particular area of store operations.

CFO Share Group

Now accepting new members.  CFO's from non-competing NGA members will participate in facilitated discussions around key organizational issues.  Open and candid sharing sessions will enable participants to ask questions, review challenges and discuss solutions with peers.  Members will meet twice a year (one meeting will be held at the annual NGA Financial Management Conference) where industry and financial updates are included on the agenda as requested by participants.

Next Generation Leaders

Coming soon.  High potential executives poised to assume a significant leadership role in their organization will participate in high-level strategy discussions as well discuss leadership development opportunities.  Members of the share group will alternate hosting the meetings, which will include store tours, open sharing and focused discussion around a mutually agreed upon topic (i.e., marketing, technology, operations, finance, etc.)

Technology Share Group

Information technology professionals from non-competing NGA member companies meet twice each year to participate in open and confidential sharing sessions.  This professionally facilitated share group provides a very unique opportunity for IT executives from independent grocery companies to discuss challenges, seek the advice of peers and share solutions. Members alternate hosting the meetings (store tours may be included) and industry and technology topic updates are included on the agenda as requested by participants.

ESOP Share Group

Developed specifically for companies with full or partial employee stock ownership plans, this group will share and compare strategies for communicating with associates and other stakeholders, managing the organization and growing the business.  The impact of government regulations will also be addressed. Professionally facilitated, this group will meet 1-2 times per year as directed by the members.  Open to non-competing NGA retail members that are at least partially owned by employees.   

Marketing

CMOs and VPs/directors of advertising, marketing and merchandising will share successful event marketing programs and other strategies to grow sales and increase store traffic.  This group is now forming.

Loss Prevention

Directors and VPs with responsibility for reducing shrink, shoplifting, vendor theft and employee theft will share loss prevention tactics and strategies.  This group is now forming.

Facilities/Maintenance

Managers and executives with responsibility for store development and maintenance will compare tactics to maintain clean, neat stores and reduce operating expenses.  This group is now forming.

Community Relations

Developed specifically for managers and directors with responsibility for community outreach.  Share group members will discuss successful practices for participating in community activities, communicating outreach initiatives to shoppers and integrating community efforts with sales building programs.  This group is now forming.
