Join independent grocers across the country for a special time of giving to help feed America’s hungry. We know that the grocery industry works hard every day to support their communities but we are designating a specific day and month of the year to highlight this work, maximize our impact, and show our nationwide commitment to this cause.
The NGA Research and Education Foundation is proud to partner with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic relief organization, with over 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries nationwide for the Independents Day of Giving campaign. Feeding America currently serves in 1 in 8 Americans with 4 billion meals distributed annually. Funds will be collected by Making Change, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Ninety percent of the net proceeds collected from this campaign will go to back to local communities (proportionate to the zip codes of the participating stores) and ten percent will go to Feeding America’s national programs to raise awareness of hunger issues.
