Women Grocers of America
Mary Macey Scholarship 2010
N.G.A. and Women Grocers of America (WGA) are pleased to announce that applications for the WGA college scholarships are being accepted for the next academic year. There is no better way to ensure a healthy future for the grocery industry than by ensuring a constant stream of talented young people who want to make a career in this fascinating and ever-changing business, particularly in the independent retail and wholesale sector.
The WGA scholarships are one-year awards for $1,000. Independent retailers and wholesalers, their employees and families, including WGA and N.G.A. members, are eligible to apply. Applicants must attend a U.S. college or university, have a 2.0 grade point average or better and be entering sophomores or continuing students in good standing in a two-year, bachelor degree-granting institution or graduate program.
To be considered, the completed scholarship application, transcript and other requested material must be postmarked by June 28, 2010. Scholarship recipients will be chosen in a lottery from the qualified pool of applicants by the WGA Board of Directors. Download the Mary Macey Scholarship form HERE (.pdf 25 kb)
