The National Grocers Association’s Government Relations Leadership Council consists of retail and wholesale members of N.G.A. from every state in the U.S. The council works to advance the public policy interests of retail and wholesale grocers through an effective grassroots government relations program. The valuable insight and guidance provided by council members is instrumental in the development of sound policy. N.G.A.’s public affairs staff works closely with the Government Relations Leadership Council members throughout the year on various issues.
N.G.A.’s Grassroots — Grocers Action Network is an all-volunteer grassroots network from across the country. Designed to create a coalition strong enough to influence legislation pertaining to the food distribution industry, the network provides an organized system for communicating with members of Congress and each other on industry-related issues. It is up to the grassroots members to review the potential impact of each issue on themselves, their company, their employees, their customers, their suppliers and their community.
N.G.A.’s Political Education Committee (Grocers-PEC) represents the voice of retail and wholesale grocers on Capitol Hill. The success and strengths of N.G.A.’s political efforts in Washington are directly attributable to grocers like yourself who provide grassroots communication on the local level and the financial support to effectively develop and communicate policy positions.
